Dr. Carmen Every-Degel is one of the cosmetic dentists at our dental practice and talks about her passion for dentistry and her extensive experience using Invisalign®.
Dr. Every-Degel was attracted to the profession of dentistry for two primary reasons. She has a natural talent and love for working with her hands, and a childhood experience left a strong impression about the value of quality dental work. Growing up in Aruba, Dr. Every-Degel lost a permanent tooth when she was quite young. Bothered by the gap in her smile, she also became increasingly embarrassed by noticeably crooked teeth. She felt self-conscious about her appearance, often hiding her smile behind her hands.
Her mother’s decision to take her in for braces and additional cosmetic dentistry treatments was a tremendous catalyst for change. Dr. Every-Degel was able to experience first hand the transformation and boost of confidence that can be achieved with targeted dental treatment.
At the age of 19, Dr. Every-Degel moved to the U.S. to pursue her education. After attending college at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, she went on to pursue a graduate degree at Georgetown Dental School in Washington D.C. It was in dental school that she met her now husband and business partner, Dr. Clifford Degel. The Degel family, including three daughters, enjoys traveling to the beautiful island of Aruba regularly for vacations. Dr. Every-Degel also enjoys tennis, scuba diving, and golf.
Working as a team, Dr. Degel and Dr. Every-Degel took over the Astoria Dental Group practice in 1990. Since that time, the practice has continued to flourish, and maintains an excellent reputation throughout Queens and Manhattan. With years of experience treating orthodontia patients with the Invisalign® system, Dr. Every-Degel is recognized as a top Invisalign dentist. She provides consistently beautiful results for patients with this discreet, easy-care system. Often, Dr. Every-Degel performs a complete smile makeover for her patients, providing an exciting, dramatic transformation.
