Benefits of Our In-House Lab
Not long ago, custom dental fabrications, such as dental crowns and other prosthetics, had to be sent out to an off-site dental laboratory. This meant an extended waiting period for patients, who were often forced to rely on less stable temporary restorations for weeks at a time. In addition, if any issues with the restoration became apparent, dentists were often unable to correct fit or appearance without sending the restoration back to the off-site lab.
Our practice takes advantage of new, digital technology that enables on-site fabrication processes. Astoria Dental Group uses a computerized, on-site dental lab staffed with a highly trained technician. This arrangement allows patients to receive timely restorations that meet their needs. We can often provide same-day or next-day treatment, including our Teeth Tomorrow® services, which allow patients to receive a full implant-supported arch the day of or after dental implant surgery. Our doctors also oversee the creation of restorations, ensuring better aesthetics and fit.
Advanced Technology
Our laboratory uses advanced CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and manufacturing) technology for precise digital design and fabrication. The process begins with digital x-rays and tomographic imaging, providing highly detailed 3-D images of your entire oral structure. These scans allow for the most customized restorations possible.
Our ceramics technician is often present in the treatment room to collaborate with the doctor, ensuring a seamless fabrication and shade-matching process. The technology provides superior accuracy, fit, and aesthetics, giving patients premium quality outcomes.
Treatments and Restorations
Astoria Dental Group offers a full range of cosmetic and restorative dentistry services utilizing our lab technology. We design and manufacture custom dentures and dental bridges entirely in-office. We also fabricate natural-looking single-tooth restorations, including crowns, bridges, and inlays and onlays. In addition, we create custom porcelain veneers and perform quick repairs and adjustments as needed. Thanks to our on-site capabilities, many of these services can be provided in a single appointment.
